my paintings are created over months of adding layers of paint, texture, subject matter and meaning. This painting is from my last exhibition just prior to the lock down of 2020.

This painting almost had a second name – Leaving, until I realised in some ways it is the same thing. Dusk is about leaving the light, the remnants of the day and moving into darkness. I find this intriguing and to be a wonderful metaphor.
