Inspiration Rock pools have always fascinated me and I’m drawn to them. I live near Torquay, Anglesea and Aireys Inlet, so long walks along the beach and exploring rock pools are wonderful pastimes.

Approach In this alcohol ink
on yupo paper, I tried to capture the moment when the sun hits the water,
by running a streak of gold through the centre. Rocks, pebbles, bubbles and shadows make up the rest of the composition. The colours are mostly warm yellows, browns, oranges and black with highlights of aqua, blues and greens.
