ARTIST STATEMENT

The Coffee Runner and The Patisserie are part of the Culinary Series. 

The paintings explore the energy, movement, and character of café and patisserie culture, focusing on the people who work within these fast-paced environments.

Using mixed media, layered brushwork, texture, graphite lines, and glazes, the works combine structure with spontaneity to create a sense of rhythm and activity. 

Vibrant colour and expressive mark-making reflect the warmth and atmosphere of these shared social spaces, while also acknowledging the skill and resilience of those working within the hospitality industry.
