I have lived, traveled and worked all over Australia and have been privileged to see a lot of the coast, country and outback, and of course, the cities. Being born in Yallourn in Gippsland I am a country girl at heart who also loves the water. I was drawn to the coast and moved to Anglesea in 2014.
It was only after moving to Anglesea that my artistic life began. I commenced painting with renowned Anglesea artist, Elaine d’Esterre, and Point Roadknight and all it has to offer became the focus of most of my paintings.
My paintings can be seen as a fusion between materialist textile-like flat surface, texture and colour with aspects of photographic depictions that capture an instant in time and space.
I explore this tension through paint material and process using broad, random pouring of different paint and mediums and passages of impasto using trowels etc. often landscape forms as paint congealed echoing land form, ocean and atmosphere.
