JANE MILLINGTON

Fascinated with the ever-changing atmosphere of the sea and its diverse coastline, Jane Millington uses a rich palette, detailed brushwork and luxuriant glazing to capture its depth and movement. 

Specialising in creating atmospheric and ephemeral works inspired by Australia’s waters and coastline Jane uses multiple layers of thin glazes of paint to simulate the reflective nature of water and to give depth to the land.
Using oil paints, her works display light and movement as she captures Australia’s expansive skies and the push and pull of the sea. 

A former art teacher and diplomat, Jane undertakes plein air sketches before returning to her studio to finish each piece.
