Born and educated in the UK, Mark then finished an art and design degree and lived in Tel Aviv, Vancouver, San Francisco, Berlin and Melbourne.
He was then drawn to the magic and rawness of the Surf Coast with its richness of colours and oceanic blue hues.
He now can’t imagine being anywhere else.
Part of the poetry of abstract painting is that it can evoke emotional responses and narratives,
resonating from elements that may be both intended or unintended, a bit like nature.
Mark’s large paintings have various layers to create subtleties amongst its ambience of different moods, along with a sense of space and mystery.
