ASPECTS OF LIGHT

Light is my inspiration for painting, the subject is secondary.

Through hours of observation and an understanding of tonal values, I endeavor to create an emotional response in my work and capture the effects of light falling on the subject forever changing.

The magic of light can convey a mood, atmospheric and perspective effects, time of day or season, sometimes fleeting, sometimes subtle, sensitive and harmonious or strong and dramatic.

Light can create an impact, a reaction.
I hope through this exhibition I can convey my appreciation of light which raises my spirits especially living by this beautiful coastline.
