LIFE’S DRAWINGS

Drawing is at the core of my art. It’s my response that captures the essence of form, light, composition at the very beginnings of a work.

When Life Drawing, the first stroke will be a summary of the model’s pose. If painting en plein air, a few light lines on the canvas depict the scope of the landscape. With Still Life, I apply a more technical drawing approach prior to underpainting and continuing layers in oils.

This exhibition includes Life Drawings – reflections from my professional career in the entertainment industry – and Still Life works from my Paddock to Palette series.
