Jiri is a watercolour artist who has been a friend and exhibiting artist at the gallery for several years and his beautiful works now adorn many homes across the State and nation. Tibor tributes 20th Century Czech artist Jan Zrzavy’s vision and the lyrical nature of his works as a key inspiration in his own artistic journey. A local resident of Aireys Inlet he is also regularly influenced and inspired by our local area, the community, space and almost conflicting vitality and isolation that blankets the region in different seasons.

This exhibition of predominantly unframed watercolours on paper is inspired broadly by the people in his town. Look closely for the found objects included in a few of the artworks!

The large painting on canvas pays homage to the Surf Coast’s cafe industry and this image is also available as a large postcard, complete with Czech stamp!
