SHORE THING

acrylics on plywood by Mandy Dollery

Having grown up with the beach as her backyard in Queensland, Mandy Dollery’s love of the beach has always been strong.

After retrieving a piece of plywood from a skip bin years ago – because the wood grains looked like the beach – Mandy created a painting of the shoreline. Enjoying the process of letting the wood grains decide which direction to take she continued to do more.

Mandy frequently visited Eagles Nest Gallery and has always had a vision of holding her own exhibition here in her favourite gallery by the sea.
