Ray is a modern tonal impressionist oil painter.

He paints ‘from life’ and due to rapidly changing light his works are by necessity simple and painterly.
Ray frequents the local beaches, cliff tops and estuaries along the surf coast to capture images that connect with him.
He also enjoys painting Still Life where he can push things just a little further having more time.
He does not have any axes to grind or stories to tell, but paints what he sees, therein, he hopes, lies his art
