GRACE TURNER

glass

Grace is a glass artist who creates decorative wares as well as glass jewellery.

Each glass bead is flame-worked by Grace using glass rods and a torch.  The beads are then annealed in the kiln for strength and lifetime durability.
Each necklace is assembled with sterling silver findings.  These pieces of jewellery are finished with high quality sterling silver made specifically to fit the glass by her silversmith.

The ‘flat glass pieces’ are kiln formed using frits and powders, and the imagery such as the ferns are screen-printed, fired in the kiln, and created from her own photos.

Each piece is a testament to Grace’s incredible skill and patience. Hand cut glass is meticulously fused over 24–36 hours, with intricate details added through screen printing and powdered glass. Cold working with diamond tools refines the edges before a final polish firing completes the masterpiece.
