my paintings are created over months of adding layers of paint, texture, subject matter and meaning. This painting is from my last exhibition just prior to the lock down of 2020.

After painting Miss Edie and her cat, I wanted to paint another version of Miss Edie. This time in her imagined youth. I wanted to explore the concept of why Miss Edie is so happy when she holds Mollie the resident cat. Does she travel back in time when she lived with her family, when life was so much different to know in the aged care home?
