One of the earliest ways for people to know the time of day was the village church bell. It also rang out to announce special events and warnings to the community. The question this painting poses; is the hill and church on top real, or are they also a painting on the wall? To decipher what is real and what is fake news is a problem in this age of instant communication for us all.
All pieces are worked on baking paper which has been gessoed and textured to look like walls then adhered with archival glue to paste board to give some wrinkles, next I’ve used acrylics/pencils/crayons-mixed media. Some have additional pieces glued on i.e, the doors.
