Woven on a floor loom.
This weaving was a response to reading SEA HEARTS by Margo Lanangan was sadness for the Seal Women (selkies), my heart was aching for them.
This piece is a woven panel featuring a shell the Seal Women would keep in their pockets, to rub between fingers when their longing for the sea became overwhelming. The design at the base is a veil of tears
