Inspiration: Australian environment theme. Inspired by the colours, shapes, light and elements of the Australian environment, in particular, a merging of Little Desert, Wotjobaluk country and the Grampians, Gariwerd country – both in Western Victoria.

The approach: The approach was to have the focus on the hills in the background, then the effects of heat in the centre, giving a filmy appearance to the trees. Finally, the bleached foreground. I used layers, textures and contrasts to create a merging of strength, beauty and subtlety. This is an interpretation that is imaginative and intuitive.
