This is one of several paintings I have done of my pet bird Astrid. She is a Galah and is pretty quiet for this species but can still be very silly and will let you know if she wants attention. She loves nothing more than sitting on my shoulder, sharing my (bird appropriate) snacks. She will often “help” me paint too, giving silent encouragement while I am creating. This painting is done from a drawing I did of her while sitting on my shoulders and staring at me with her big eyes. She really likes to get close up in my face and just stare.
